Blood Tests – Service Update

We have experienced an increase in requests for blood tests over the past year and due to lack of clinical space at the practice we have struggled to offer patients appointments in a timely fashion.  We are now working on increasing our capacity to take blood tests by using a sectioned off part of the main waiting area.

Whilst we appreciate this is not ideal and is a temporary measure, we understand the issues our patients’ face travelling to other providers to have their bloods taken.  This is a service we want to be able to offer our patients with more regularity than we have been.

We have faced various issues over the past year with a shortage of blood sample bottles and then a shortage of needles leading to a backlog of work.  We are working through this backlog using our newly created space and then will have the ability to look to increase our offering of blood tests.

When attending for a blood test, you may have this taken in the new space we have created.
