Dispensary Update 18th July 2025

Current Situation

Over the last month we have managed to greatly improve our prescription turnaround time, so the majority of our patients are able to collect their prescription within the agreed 5-day period.

We would hope to continue  with this but we are facing the holiday period which will put an extra strain on resources.

We continue to experience serious drug shortages, which is a common theme throughout the country and is out of our hands so there will be times when we will ask you to try and source the medication elsewhere, but please be aware that we will have already tried our best to secure the medication before giving you the prescription to take away.

Staffing Challenges 

We are still actively trying to recruit experienced dispensers, but in the meantime, we have recruited an additional member of staff as a dispensary assistant

We are all continuing to work additional hours including weekends 

Prescriptions to Pharmacy

During this time, we are able to send your prescription elsewhere, to a pharmacy of your choice, but please be aware that if you need a prescription immediately, e.g. from a GP visit or a surgery attendance then this prescription will also be sent to your pharmacy.

We would hope that you would not choose this option, but if you do, we hope you will return to us as our service improves. We rely on our patients to have their medication dispensed here
